2nd and 3rd Deliverables


Over the last month, we've made so much progress on the game. We have nearly all major mechanics in and are starting to swap out prototype assets for nicer ones. We have also added new members to our dev team including a music composer, concept artist, and UI artist that will help the game come to life even more for our final deliverable on November 2nd.

We have improved our level design by modifying the terrain and landscape layouts. We also made the terrain texture of the grass match the grass blades more to create a more seamless blend. We added more trees around the perimeter of the gameplay space to focus the player on the area we want them to be in. We also removed the dirt road that previously existed outside the gameplay space and added a temporary car asset to block the player from going outside.

We have a first pass on our forest spirit AI. The appear only when the player crafts a mask and equips it. The player can now unequip the mask and hold it in their hand.

We included a few audio sample triggers in our 3rd deliverable build to test them against the art. We have a main theme, a 'combat' theme, and a night time ambient theme.

We finally got the day and night cycle to work properly. The sunlight shifts the light and shadows over time. Now, we need to find new skyboxes for day time vs night time that better match the tone we want to set.

We can't wait to keep adding more plants and beautifying the level. These next two weeks will be very busy but it's exciting to see the game coming together!
